willi since when do politicians not lie? Howard, frequent liar/ Abbott admitted the lies (at least he had some honesty), Morrison, wouldn't know the truth if it bit him on the bum.
Rudd, another inveterate liar. Gillard, broke one poorly made promise, a reaction, then was forced to do a deal to secure the majority support..... nothing unusual there.
go back further to Hawke/Keating and all the rest. Truth is an expendable commodity when it comes to politics.
I don't like it, it one of the few things I despise about democracy and hope to see change.
this "lie" was the one key feature of the Morrison legacy that needed to be changed. its outrageous economic sabotage. yes Albanese promised not the change the S3TCs, but many economists and various lobbyists were screaming for the S3TC to be changed.
its a populist result, but a good one.
