Cheers mate. Hopefully a quick turnaround in all lithium stocks soon. Based on my recent losses on my lithium investments, there might be a lot more service to go. 24 years down, 19 to go until compulsory retirement age. I was getting cocky 12 months ago and started daydreaming about early retirement in the next few years, but alas, things have changed. I've now managed to turn a $3.5m portfolio into a $650k portfolio in under 12 months. All you can do is laugh, and wait it out at this point.

Good luck to you and all other investors here. I haven't lost faith in the sector, but I do need to take some time to examine my own judgement. More profit taking required in the future.

This lithium thing has been insane over the last 7 years. I was in Orecobre for $1.60 and rode up to $8 or more, made some but rode back down, it was incredible how precipitous the price dropped back in 2020/2021, like $3k/t to $5k/t, below cost of production for some brine guys, then tore up to $70k/$80k/t. That history should have warned us it could repeat, so I've watched my current lithium stocks drop again over last 12mths, awfully painful. But what are the lessons here? We're playing in a cyclical industry, so you have to trade accordingly. Wanna buy and hold in cyclicals? Try BHP or Rio. Lesson here is you simply can't with lithium. With the crazy prices a year ago, and companies having DFS's assuming prices not too far off that, like $25K/t to $30K/t (which was dreamland way back with Orecobre), a year 9 commerce student could tell you that ain't sustainable, supply will swamp mkt and prices drop. So Mr Rob826, I sure hope your $3.5m portfolio cost you a whole lot less than that. My lithiums topped out at $400K, but are probably below $100K, but I'm still slightly ahead. Kicking myself for selling the PLS I got for $0.18 at $0.15, then watched them hit $4. But LKE was spectacular, if you were smart enough to take the future potential value today, without facing the many risks along the way. I've been in and out of Allkem/Orecobre, and it was the way to play this. Personally I think the only option now is steer clear of hard rock, only play in guaranteed brine. And the EV space, I think there is doldrums ahead, cause people like me who have plugin-hybrid can't get a full EV that meets our needs. Ain't never buying chinese, Tesla doesn't/won/t make a car I need, and other options are european who won't come to Australia cause we don't have a charging solution yet. Plugin-hybrid is only option and that don't use much lithium. If the car makers actually succeed with solid state, then oh deary me, a 250km range solid state with range extender 1.3litre engine solves everything in Oz, including not having to lug a 0.5tonne slow to charge battery around for little benefit.
