Nobody likes these sorts of moves; it rarely works to shareholders' advantage. Not to say that it can't produce a win, but it usually signals an acknowledgement of past failures and an attempt to clear the decks for a fresh start.
'The company is pleased to announce . . . . ' The last refuge of the charlatan, or a genuine attempt to improve things . . . . I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, Nick Selby, I think, has impressed us all to the point where most are happy to have him as our replacement MD/CEO and I think he is genuinely trying to improve the lot of shareholders after a decade of struggles and losses decimated the share price. i.4b shares at 3.2c isn't an attractive look, but if things are about to turn in our favour then ~288m shares @ 16c as a starting point, well, it's something for the sell side analysts to work with.
It's not the end of our world, could be a nice beginning, in fact; I think I can live with it, after everything else we've had to endure since HOTYH, but let's not go there again.
A new broom sweeps clean - let's see. It's a qualified yes from me.
