On a very simple comparison, would you prefer to have a 10% TREO grade with 20% NdPR - so 2% actual NdPr

Or a 2% TREO grade with 50% NdPr - so a 1% NdPr grade?

Monazite is easy to crack and produce a rare earth carbonate - China, France, India etc have been doing this for decades. Energy Fuels does it, and so does SRC in Canada. Iluka is building this capacity, and Lynas has been cracking monazite since the Malaysia LAMP was commissioned. RE separation that follows is the more difficult part.

Although Mt Weld's geology is complex - the key RE minerals are monazite and apatite

I also wouldn't get too excited about Bayan Obo...it may be the 'largest' but as with most Chinese operations, impossible to understand their costs and profits. That independent technical review of Mt Weld by Behre Dolbear indicated that their processing yield is close to 10%....which would cruel any mining operation:

Unfortunately the grade and NdPr content is underwhelming in compared to economically viable hard rock/monazite peers.

LYC is 8% TREO and last quarterly showed breaking even.

BRE is 1% TREO. good luck.

Most of the companies listed process the monazite as by-product essentially a credit, bayan obo included. Hence why it and many other mineral sands projects sell REO as by product process as opposed to standalone REO operation.

those that do have REO as a primary revenue I.e. Lynas have 8% TREO content something this does not.
