I have made the claim that just about all of Christianity's doctrines and symbols have pagan origins or have echoes in paganism. Nobody has commented on this claim never mind disputed it.
Some rile against the celebration of the birth of Christ, some against celebrating birthdays, some against marking the Sabbath on Sunday... and so on. Some think that these are important enough issues that they divide us into slandering each other and sometimes even killing each other which can leave some not having anything to do with Christianity and giving others ammunition to attack Christianity.
Even though I'm not a Christian, I believe that Christianity has a lot to offer but its effectiveness is degraded by Christians being divided by the superficial such as what church leaders wear at church services rather than a focus on Christ's teachings which are difficult to adhere to but simple to understand.
These are just my thoughts of an outsider looking in so please just ignore them if you think I'm off track.
