The first budget was a mess but l'm not sure that Abbott should be blamed for all of it ?

Sure he'd be involved but it's really the treasurer's doing.

After promising there would be no cuts to services they went ahead and did exactly that.

Did Abbott go off message or did treasury just not listen ? Maybe because they had a walloping majority they thought they'd just get away with it ?

One of the main reasons that the COALition had such a big win was because Labor was so bad. Rather than the COALition being any good.

They may have thought they were invincible ? l have no doubt that if Turnbull hadn't replaced Abbott they would've been a one term government.
