This area is not talking directly about Jesus, the word life, the scriptures etc, got fulfilled through him, but not directly showing it in these verses, they take you back in time, which was then handed down through the generations, resulting in scriptures which Jesus refers to, about him.
John 17:3 = a child can grasp it's truth, plain simple language and no way can the lies of the only true God here being Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Same goes for the only good God, Jesus is referring to EXACTLY the God and Father, as per 17:3, does NOT include himself in that statement.
