Very true, since inception by the Greeks politics was only practiced by the elites. Also since inception until only relatively recently democracy was all ways the struggle between labor and capital. That is the main loss which makes it difficult to call it a democracy. Who is representing labour? Certainly not the Labor party. that said, some better signs recently.
