It's also something I noticed as soon as I saw it - and, I missed the point totally before because I'd only seen inland ones ----------- it's cooled by water from the English Channel.

As basic as, but, I'd never thought of it before. This is the second biggest power station in France and 7th biggest in the world (by the article)

2. Paluel Nuclear Power Plant – 5,320MW

The Paluel nuclear power plant located in Normandy, France, approximately 40km away from Dieppe, is the second biggest nuclear power station in France and the seventh biggest in the world by net capacity.
The 5,320MW facility is developed on a 160ha-site on the waterfront of the English Channel. Owned and operated by EDF, it comprises four 1,330MW PWR units.
EDF started construction on the Paluel nuclear power station in 1977. The first two reactor units of the plant were commissioned in 1984 while the third and fourth units were respectively connected to the grid in 1985 and 1986. Paluel is the second-largest French NPP, after Gravelines.

Apart from all the other issues with nuclear power, the security is a big deal .

As you have just experienced, the security for a nuclear power station is next level serious .

Something that the nuclear shills won't talk about.

And now they want to build the imaginary SMRs and spread them around the countryside ?

Another nuclear fail.

Btw . Seeing as you are on the ground in France , could you comment on the expansion of nuclear power in France and the political aspect to it ? My understanding is that Macron was pretty keen to expand nuclear for his own re-election reasons.

Also a quick comment on the renewable energy industry in France would be appreciated .
