Perhaps it might one day occur to you that the problem is just a little more complex than "Stop the Boats". Abbott knows that but he's happy to play silly games with some people who are a bit paranoid about this issue.
We all have concerns with where it's heading, but at the end of the day, we're dealing with human beings, and we are mostly...lol... a civilised society, and we are obliged to deal with the matter responsibly and humanely.
It's a very difficult one to deal with. No doubt about that, but the days of treating human beings like rabid dogs as a means of deterrence are gone. Might suit the agenda of some, but it's not right or acceptable and the majority of Australians realise that.
