"made the ATO independent in the same way as the RBA the taxation system would be completely different.". ....... thats a very interesting thought that I hadn't considered. what changes do you think an independent ATO would make? and would the Aus public appreciate such an arrangement?
we already have a lot of people who think we don't need important Govt services such as hospitals and the ADF/ABF ahahhe.... of course they would choose to keep these if they had a say, yet would still try to reduce the amount paid in taxes as if their money is not as necessary as the money of the least well off.
