It's not those that bought in the CR.
It's those that bought on the announcement of the CR and the obivous share price destruction it did.
It was music to their ears. Pre CR 20-22c. Post CR down to 16c (and now even lower).
You can see this as the shorts were covered as soon as the trading halt was lifted and the selloff started.
It's not until 3 days later that the CR shares are allotted and by then it was done. Ironically the company had only just featured in the AFR article complaining about the shorters. Then they handed them a silver platter.
The shorters made a killing from this CR. Ill thought out and unnecessary.
It would be interesting to know who the Chairman was talking to in the lead up to this CR.
