I'm not championing anything about it diligent. Merely stating what I think is an important part of the modern history of the region that is very specific to the 1950's. You might want to read up on it as it will change your p.o.v.
As for cultures and lineage, they have existed since long before the time of JC and Muhammad - many thousands of years in fact. People profited from the trade routes through the middle east for thousands of years prior to the discovery of oil. Important contributions to mathematics is owed to the arab region. You might think this is a newfound conflict particular to the 21st century, but it isn't.
It is precisely this righteousness that many cultures find offensive to the point of hatred. That hatred begets a vengence beyond any rationality and left long enough will alter a culture. The faith of Christianity has not always been returned in kind, as is written in history. We are all borne into a system of beliefs without choice.
As for the holocaust, I have no idea of the statistics of who believes and who does't, but it is much like any other belief for those who did not live it. I have walked the train tracks at Auschwitz, and spent several days in what seemed like just standing in one spot. It was totally humbling even when you consider it happened ONLY 70 years ago.
If you think there is no respect for culture, this has been the case for a long, long time. But this lack of respect every bit a two way street that is realisd as discrimination, and abuse takes on many forms.
In spite of all the differences, if you cannot treat someone as brethren, then expect the same in return. This righteous hypocrisy even the white mans church has failed many centuries to overcome.
So get over it, history is full of demons. None has been any more righteous than the other.
