My experience is that initially the options of heads that are expected to improved, tend to trade at a premium to their actual book value. When they reach the srike price, their premium will begin to reduce to a point where they are trading at exactly the book value. Thereafter the options start to trade at a discount to the shares and when the options and the heads have similar values, none of this is an issue any longer.
