I'm starting to think that SOL never actually thought they'd get some of the PPT assets directly but made the takeover bid as a clever way to spark all of the corporate activity that we're now seeing as an automatic way to unlock some value rather than slowly trying to pressure management over time as we've seen Perpetual be reluctant to move with the times. I'd be interested to know what their average price on PPT is as you'd think they would be sitting on a tidy profit.
