There’s a downside to the engineering approach that many ecoworrier’s fail to consider when it comes to this Island’s nation and the health of its coral reefs.

The land grab to build more infrastructure has a direct correlation to the degradation of their coral reef systems, it’s a very good example of anthropogenic effects.

No it isn’t due to mmco2, rising sea temperatures or even sea level rises.

It has to do with the effects of dredging up sands and the diminished water clarity that this process causes, corals don’t like to be awash in murky silty waters.

Even the imported sands that are brought in to help fill the newly created lands add to the problem.

I don’t need a degree, Master’s degree or Doctorate in Marine Sciences to work that out just a bit of common sense and an interest in what is good marine stewardship.

My family history in the fishing industry doesn’t count as Letter’s after my name, obviously but it certainly helps to sharpen my common sense thought process.

Do you think I’m Dreaming or do you grasp the point that I’m making?
