We won't have a choice anyway. Overseas manufacturers are not going to produce vehicles that will not meet the new standards. Or maybe buy a Lada ute from Russia?
Why the hell would Toyota etc still churn out old technology vehicles just for Australia??. Those assembly plants will be turning out hybrids, EVs and Hydrogen vehicles. Petrol will likely remain but it will be the end of light diesels.
You can't blame Labor this time. It has been coming for years and the coalition would have also needed to face the consequences of the vehicle manufacturers decisions.
