"Head, interest rates are about to go up markedly, see how the economy and employment fares"
When the economy starts to boom and it has ,interest rates will rise , saying that a booming economy equals low unemployment.
Problem is that the boom is only being driven from one sector , mining. We have a two speed economy issue , a good way to help even out the economy is a mining tax.(Menzies taxed wool growers in the fifties to sort out a similiar issue) A mining tax will help take the pressure of interest rates.
As I keep hearing on this forum that this tax isn't going to raise much revenue (so obviously taking a small amount of revenue out of the sector will have little impact on the business) the sector will continue to boom.
