I am not sure that I’d describe any of it in that way. whether we like it or not humans are tribal. The history of the Middle East and the land of Israel and judea has been fought over and scrapped over forever. If it’s racist it has applied to everyone. Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Rome, babylon, whatever. but I don’t think it’s racism. These wars and conquests have been driven by tribal, imperial or personal desire for territory and power and maybe by minerals, and fought by those loyal to such leaders. the Jews have had a rough trot and so you can understand why they have been driven by the dream of a return to a homeland. Humans do that and if we want to lay blame for that it needs to be laid at the feet of successive generations of Christians in multiple countries who happily allowed Jews to be their targets. They also restricted their means of generating an income thus setting in place the very means by which Jews acquired the money lender persona or the poverty stricken weirdo due to their clothing and herded them into ghettos. The hatred came from them not the Jews. if you want to explore the history of Jews in australia there is plenty to be found. you’d be hard pressed to find those early Jewish settlers were much different from their gentile peers as to your comment thumb it's nose at what was decreed after WW2 the Arab states were as much to blame for that situation. the ink had barely settled and the fight began. If you want to lay blame on who started it after the UN declaration you can probably blame the Arabs. But if you want to look elsewhere then look at the UN and probably more specifically at America who led the charge in the UN. and even then who knows - Palestine was prior to the establishment of Israel under British mandate - part of the Ottoman Empire and the victors spoils from the First World War. So it didn’t even really exist in its own right. the racism belongs to those countries that found an Israeli state to be a convenient solution to the Jewish problem. of all the histories where one might look for explanations for conflict I think this is one of the most complex and least easily attributed to anyone. I have barely even covered the complexity and the complicity of different nations in different ways. that doesn’t mean that Netanyahu can get off scot free - he shouldn’t - but if you are going to be even handed you cannot excuse Hamas either. They are continuing a fight that started either in 1947 or even earlier when Jews started migrating to the area in the 19th century following the Zionist ideals of Herzl. We look on and judge now but without the lens of history we risk doing an injustice to either side. Solutions will not come from judging and stopping Netanyahu either

@Parsifal ; I believe in holding people accountable for their actions, NOT in forgiveness! Netanyahu's regime has gone way beyond targeting Hamas for the atrocities committed on October 7th. Even US President Joe Biden is now publicly condemning Netanyahu's regime for its slaughter of Palestinian civilians and for its refusal to engage with efforts to achieve a pause / ceasefire / two state solution. I forgive none of Hamas, Netanyahu's rogue regime or the USA for the ethnic cleansing underway for more than a decade now.
