.I’m not ignoring anything I just happen to think that you have decided that Netanyahu is worse than Hamas. And he probably is right now because he is filled with the same sort of irrational zealotry and anger that saw nazis commit appalling atrocities on civilian populations that resulted or fought them
But you appear to be getting a little carried away as well as making assumptions about my state of mind.
How you can draw a conclusion that I am flattering myself by insulting someone with a different view beats me
first I wondered why you raised the issue of forgiveness when I certainly did not mention it and secondly I expressed my view that your perspective is a little narrow
neither of those comments suggest I find your views confronting, or that I have any particular view of myself or involve an insult
so you are either thin skinned, think you are the only one who is right or you are incapable of taking a long tail view of the situation or understanding the complexity
I happen to think that whatever one thinks of Netanyahu and his actions what he is doing is unhinged and likely to repeat - albeit differently - the problems that occurred when Israel pursued the PLO and fed movements that included HAMAS/the moslem brotherhood. Zealotry and pride on both parts has prevented any rational settlement and distrust runs deep on both parts.
Let us not be deterred from seeing the loathing that is inflaming and filling the lives of hundreds of thousands of Arabs living around us,’’ Dayan declared in his eulogy. (For a settler murdered and mutilated while patrolling the perimeter of a kibbutz) “This is our life’s choice—to be prepared and armed, strong and determined, lest the sword be stricken from our fist and our lives cut down
but Hamas and before that the PLO and other neighbouring Arab states have hardly been blameless and the ghetto like treatment of Gaza has arisen because they have never accepted the partition. Distrust has run so deep between the different parties that a truce, peace or settlement has never been achieved.
