I think a lot of people are over complicating this situation where there's no need to. A thread next door is full of crackpot posters claiming Mossad did Port Arthur and not Bryant. You can also expect Brenton Tarrant to be a Govt contractor of sorts for some mystical overseas interest. Thats what happens when things become over complicated and muddled up with confusion. The way I see it is the most obvious way which has hel;d the test of time. That is that the Jews were persecuted and given their own territory to live what was thought back then to be peacefully. 20 years on and the Arabs declared war on them and got their butts kicked which resulted in Israel taking a bit of land from the Arabs. This has simmered ever since in the Arab world. The 23 state soluition has been bandied about for decades and it makes some semse. But would it Israel gave back it's land grab and adopted a 2 state solution would that end the violence and everybody becomes good neighbours.? I very much doubt it, as the aim really is to banish the Jews totally as has been said. The US and Poms have 2 choices...either allow the Jews to be wiped out and the Arabs states squabble over Israel territory. Or do what they are doing now and protect the Jews from the continual acts of terror. Yes Israel has probably over extended it's reaction, and needs to enact an exit strategy from Palestine, or it risks losing some support. But they did deserve to retaliate in some shape and form to the attacks, as if they did not the attacks would be never ending and backed by Iran.
Whats the fix? I have no idea, and I doubt anybody does. Other than lots more peace talks and a willingness by both sides for compromise.
