To be fair Split at no point were Amos or Val D'Or evacuated, and there is no evidence at any point that NAL was either, or any of it's operations halted due to the fires. The evacuations you mention were in the town of Lebel-sur-Quevillon, which is actually a considerable distance, around 100km, north east of NAL.
Moblan drilling and operations were obviously impacted but this was indeed announced (albeit not as fast as others). Therefore, no actual production operations were impacted and reporting was accurate accordingly, going back to @cmonaussie 's original point.
