Scott the many local retirees I know do have a stable income and its called the aged pension.
They invariably don't have any set plans to ensure there is any left for "Chalmers" tax grab because their names, not his, are on their super and bank accounts and they're spending it all at an obscene rate.

Many had average to small super account balances upon retirement and most of that was spent quickly but some have enough left still to supplement the aged pension with regular large withdrawals relatively speaking.

I would never presume to advise retirees how they should spend their hard earned savings, Super, and pension income.

Furthermore I find your insultive comment that retirees are misusing their superannuation balances upon reaching retirement is denigrating and abusive.
Yes they need to "ensure", as you put it, but that means ensuring they spend it all quickly and not leave any low hanging fruit for you know who, your mobs the ALP and Greens.

How dare you attempt to judge how efficiently we retirees spend OUR Super, yes our super, not CHALMERS Super!

From my point of view I am attempting to copy the majority of locals i know by making up for lost time by consuming and spending it all post haste thereby depriving his nibs Chalmers and the ATO of any, currently existing, Superannuation Death Benefits Tax which would be payable by my heirs at 17% or 32% of all untaxed Super balances remaining unspent should I fall victim to our species 99.999% fatality rate.

Luckily I do have a stable income waiting in the form of the Aged pension. Thanks Sir Robert and his peers.
