No Muddy, I said plugged in, preferably using relatively cheap off peak power or even your dedicated EV tariff. Anyway the power required to keep a battery conditioned is minimal, similar to those sump heaters required for ICEs in very cold climates as well.
In any case its not a problem we need to worry about in Australia unless you live in the ski fields during the season. A few frosty mornings isn't going to worry an EV battery.
