The below post is my opinion;
I don't agree with your version of competition?
If Ford made all of the cars in the world and they were badged differently - I don't consider that competition. This is what the Labor party plans to do to the telco industry in this country. They should stop refering to competition and should be using terms such as nationalisation and monopoly when talking about the NBN CO. They should also be talking about higher access costs and / or taxes to pay for it and the risks associated with the loss of technology diversity.
Interesting how mainstream media organisations and content suppliers could soon be muscling telstra aside because of this new taxpayer funded NBN network.
I certainly despise my tax dollars being used to undermine my investment whilst supporting the business plans of mainstream media organisations. But Labor is always happy to bend over for big media. A Royal Commission should be held to see what is in it for them. I am from the state of WA INC and have seen how this party operates and what drives it.
I myself believe telstra would have a brighter future under a coalition government where it will be left vertically intergrated and over time if the government gives people confidence they won't get ripped off then they will invest in their own competing infrastructure and the legacy network will become more like telstra's network.
The main reason this company has underperformed and that is the relentless actions of the ACCC in dropping third party access prices. If telstra can't charge third party's a decent amount to access its network then how will their profits ever go up.
I hope the labor government falls over. The sooner the better. I will be voting against giving telstra's assets to the NBN Co / government. It is obvious from the current shareprice that the market doesn't think much of the deal either.

I have not stated a sentiment as the company is a political football.
