Glad someone else has read this horror story. The use of gas as a back is not a good read. We need to build 11 GW of new gas to firm the network. These will run 5% of the time. As an investment, say a 1GW gas turbine is a costly beast, how is the. owner going to get An ROI without significant standby payouts? These have been left out of the cost equation
