Dunno about that mate, hasn't shown on my X feed:
In other news, Indo looking for scapegoats perhaps/starting to distance from their Chinese partners?

@chemistry8, you responded to @flyer100 (I've added emphasis):
I've seen this said a few times here. Chris Bowen is the Minister for Climate Change and Energy. The portfolio is a federal ministerial portfolio responsible for the coordination and implementation of sustainable energy policies by the Australian Government. These policy areas include the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, the promotion of energy efficiency, as well as adaptations to climate change within domestic and international contexts.Building plants doesn't concern him at all, that department is focused on tracking and managing emissions.
So my interpretation is QPME ops are totally in his wheelhouse.
The Bowen Basin methane plumes are going to be obvious red flags on the new open sourced satellite reporting.
The government is going to have to do something to meet its Global Methane Pledge goals (carrot/stick), and met coal mines are going to be around for decades.
Draining and capturing their gas is both a safety requirement and a huge fugitive saving to the industry.
As to flaky science, c'mon?!
Before: BB methane escapes or is flared
After: Methane captured and converted to CO2 via MGP and TECH refinery stacks will totally create a carbon negative situation!
Methane has a global warming potential of up to 30 (with CO2 as a base point 1):
https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/understanding-global-warming-potentials#:~:text=Methane%20(CH4)%20is%20estimated,less%20time%20than%20CO2.
QPME in the box seat in this developing space IMO.
