    it would be magic if a way to move electricity about without transmission lines ------

    wind, keeping the ground clear, corrosion etc. aren't all of the problems with transmission lines - indeed they are very vulnerable

    droughts and dust - are a big problem. The dust builds up on the lines and then when it rains - 'Houston we have a problem' --------- so out come the helicopters with the pressure cleaners

    I imagine in a volcanic eruption with a lot of dust - they would be at high risk as well

    one day, magic might happen and we'll find a way to put them underground of have a totally different way of moving power from one place to another --------- without wires
