Realities on the ground. He is right. If Ukraine does not accept the fact that Russia is not going away, they may loose a lot more land. Russia is already building a huge militarised area along the front line, south to north. No residents. The only question is how wide the zone will be. After the elections in Russia is finished, a lot more soldiers will be going to the frontline to push west.
