I was just talking to my wife about it. Mixed emotions for me too. The windfall is going to be significant as for me personally, I've never hesitated in buying Altium whenever the share price has had those periods of pulling back. Now I have to find a better idea.
I feel that Altium are in an industry that will only grow and accelerate. However, I have this gut feeling that this time, Altium have made the right call. Aram had stated during investor calls that he believed that their offering was 3 years ahead of their competitors. The rise of A.I. is an unknown in the electronics design industry. So we're going to lock in some future growth.
I'd have preferred to be on the Altium register - like you say FOFU.
Still digesting this. A bit shocked in all honesty. But hey, at the end of the day - Long term (and even short term) investors have truly benefitted from an investment in Altium.
