Toyota are bucking the trend for EV big time, formally tearing up EV plans and going for Hydrogen, there has to be something to this argument as its been conjecture for years now. At least cu still plays a small part (actually nano small) in hyrdo catalysts not sure how much cu it takes to take part in its production though.
I suppose it keeps the servos happy if they can switch to hydro supply than petrol/diesel as they haven't much future with EV
