    LOL.

Russia didn't exactly back an illegal coup in Ukraine, did it?

US did. That's what lead to the escalation of the conflict.

It appears that US/EU were confident, that Russia would not respond to NATO's attempts at expanding into Ukraine. Despite the fact that numerous politicians, ex-members of the military and members of the intelligence community warned the world, that if NATO continued it's expansion and gets involved in Ukraine, this would result in a civil war, which would force Russia to intervene. That's a prediction that was made by William J Burns (current CIA director) back in 2008.

Another possibility is that US and EU knew how Russia would respond and deliberately chose to provoke the escalation of the conflict
Some of the major beneficiaries of this war include companies such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman. Do you know what all of these have in common?
    BlackRock.

Lockheed Martin - 7% of their shares are owned by BlackRock
Raytheon - 6.6% owned by BlackRock
    General Dynamics - 5.3%
    Northtrop Grumman - 6.3%

All of these companies spend millions lobbying members of US/EU governments, that are in charge of making certain political decisions.

Coincidentally, Blackrock is going to be one of the key players in rebuilding Ukraine after the war is over.

    Nice business model, huh?

    - Lobby US/EU politicians to make decisions that push Ukraine into a war.
    - Receive record-level profits for as long as the war continues
    - Once the war is over, earn even more money on reconstruction contracts

    Double whammy.

    Well done, BlackRock...
