potash prices starting to increase, page-4

Guys,

I work on drilling rigs and KCl is widely used in the drilling industry as a clay inhibitor. Potash is the raw material for KCl. I remember in 2008 when prices for KCl doubled in a short amount of time.

Worldwide, drilling for oil and gas has picked up since the lows of 2009 and combined with the lack of fertlizing for food crops that has taken place worldwide, it is all pointing to a massive squeeze on prices for KCl in 2011.

IMO, this all points to LD coming into play soon. I can't imagine any traditional owner giving up the opportunity to capitalize on this. Having said that, I can't imagine them giving it up cheaply either for the same reason. I am sure there is a solution beneficial to both parties. Higher prices will put this sharply into perspective.
