STO does not burn its oil and gas and is not a large user. It sells the product that enables places like aluminium smelters to burn vast amounts of fossil fuels.
The problem is consumerism - people wanting and wasting energy on an unbelievable scale ably abetted by the Govt., councils and industry.
I walked through a school car park at pick up time yesterday and nearly choked. Dozens of parents sitting in their huge suv's with diesel and petrol engines idling so they could keep the a/c on! Poor darlings! The Govt. has allowed car manufacturers to sell mainly SUV's for more profit = burn more fuel. Housing insulation regulations are woeful = big energy losses.
Just 2 small examples of the scale of the problem and ACCR attacking STO serves very little purpose in reducing emissions.
