@Margaret63 - i let her starve a bit, gave her a bit of her jellied fish she likes so much this morning and only just now, gave her a new type of 'biscuit' food and she liked it! so there is hoping - I would be sad if she died early - my last cat got to be almost 24 years, but the boys always died around 13, 14 years of age, last one through a mishap, he tangled with and probably ate a poisoned rat. A beauty he was, too: soft golden-ginger cat, longish smooth fur, great personality - was ill and clingy the night before, only I didn't notice, as I was still going to work. Pets really affect you.

..... and I remembered Prince Phillip's visit to Western Australia (part of his being President of the Australian Wildlife Fund) and was trying to work out in which year - I was still working at Parliament then, and he shook my hand and we exchanged some polite words . . . but I remembered that someone from Albany had made this special art work (handicraft) of an Australian bush animal as a gift to him and it remained on show and at Parliament house long after he left. They must have warehouses full of gifts . . . he was a nice man, made some working-class pommy ladies in garish dresses laugh, really entertained them - they had been invited to the reception by their local member, one Norm Marlborough.

The reason I remembered is, because of the beauty treatment I had yesterday, at this fabulous place, Brookleigh Estate - I remembered today that the Prince stayed there overnight - he was only here in W.A. for a day and a half - the estate - then - was owned by some socialites whose names I have forgotten, now it's a horsey lady who owns it - there are horses dotted about the place as well - really great to go there.
