You seem to overlook any negative to the Ukrainian population as long as the end result is damaging to Russia... priorities. Also, Russia can't come to any peace agreements while their counterparts refuse to talk to them. The blockage in diplomacy is on Kyiv. In light of recent failures, I think it should be encouraged to negotiate in order to save it's people, and more land. The endless money routine has been tried.
