What a horrible way to go.. being virtually blanched in a nickel refinery. That would be a truely awful end. Heads should roll for this.

it certainly adds a new meaning to the phrase of that article where it said about ' chinas sponsorship of the explosion in nickel production in indonesia'. In hindsight, not the best choice of words, however prophetic.

if enough companies and their customers demanded at least somewhat ethically derived products it could be an advantage for Australian producers over many others or at least compel others to lift their game in that regard.

My hopes on this actually happening are not great though, as plenty of people in the world, despite what they say, dont really give a shit, or are fed a line by a company re their ESG BS and they swallow it whole. Theyre happy to turn a blind eye if it means they can save a dollar.

it's ironic really, because they claim to know all the reasons why they should buy electric vehicles,
.. save the planet etc but don't care a jot that the production of them has caused all sorts environmental or other damage before their purchase. Ditto for the energy production sources that provide the zero emissions vehicle it's motive energy.

Some people are blind to the big picture. As long as they can say its not a dirty fossil fuel vehicle they are happy to ride their high horse. It's still probably the way ahead IMO but let's not kid ourselves that it's all that clean and green right now

Anyway it looks like China's playing games.. helping the lithium, nickel and rare earth prices deflate. I Think ultimately the price will be paid somewhere along the line and there will be a kind of moral or supply revert to the mean kind of pressure develop that will put a bit of wind Into the sails of companies like DRE. We are already seeing these seeds sewn in efforts like this recent Australian legislation, friendshoring, the US IRA act etc.

just hope it's sooner rather than later and in the meantime we have some luck on the gold front.
