    In this situation it again comes down to proper infrastructure in most of the work places.
    Imagine the following example:
    Lets assume for the sake of simplicity you traveled 50km to work.
    Even at a slow charge rate of 12-13km/h (2.4kW 240V@10A standard wall outlet capacity)
    your car could have enough charge in only approx. 4hours to take you easily back home with plenty kms to spare.
    In 8 hours you’d end up with very respectable 120km.
    And all this for nothing if it was charged during the time when apparently the electricity is in excess and worth next to nothing.
    BTW on a different point, we all should be reminded that the electricity travels at a speed of light;
    Therefore there should never be a situation where it is wasted due of no consumer demand.
    We live in a vast county some 5000km across blessed with copious amount of sunshine that many
    European countries would “Kill for”. If there is a bad weather in NSW, I bet you the sun is beaming down
    in WA, QLD, NT or even Tasmania.
    It should be as easy as flicking a switch (on a huge scale of course) to make sure that
    the energy is diverted where needed. Of course proper infrastructure is needed as well as state cooperation pricing agreements.
    In the age of technological disruptions I strongly believe this will come in the future as it is a “no-brainer”
