Also remember that a v large amount of REE get smuggled out of China. I read China Daily, that only a less than you would believe amount is formalized imports to Japan.Given the reduction announced of REE exports it would also hurt Japan more than they would let on watching all that unofficial imports be slowly strangled, ie the WHOLE supply chain is drying up. The Chinese know in the long view how important this stuff is. Not just now but 10-50 yrs from now.
No REE no electronics.
