Nice one, accurate. This is why I rarely enter a enter the market without a profit target in mind, and why I won't take trades if the risk to reward isn't around 1:4 or better. Everyone trades differently of course, but for me the discipline is knowing these things (tp/sl) in advance and sticking to it. This takes all the emotion out of the trade, and then you only need to worry about early exits if the picture changes.

If you are focused on technicals you should already have an exit in mind based on technicals. If you are in because of the fundamentals, you should have a fundamental exit in mind. In my opinion, it's never wise to buy in if you don't have some sort of exit strategy in mind.

For long term investments like Imugene, my honest opinion here is to use combination of both. My personal situation was being tipped to IMU. After a brief look at the fundamentals I decided this was a train I wanted to be aboard, and so I then used the technical picture to do so, picking the timing and the price point. And incidentally, this is also how I have accumulated so far, finding key technical levels to add to my investment. This is also how I will exit a portion of my position - once my fundamental targets have been met I will use technicals to fine tune that to an appropriate level. While I enjoy the technical analysis, despite recent accusations I am very much a fundamental investor on Imugene and will only exit once those fundamental milestones have been met.

You make solid points about market cap - I've lost on a mining stock from not paying enough attention to the MC, and not made as much on others as I could have. The MC for Imugene was probably a bit overcooked at 60c looking back, but definitely never expected to see 4c again that's for sure, though who did. Ridiculous, but considering macros anything can happen I guess. Now with current IP and looking at peer valuations in recent T/Os, it will be very interesting to see where we end up.
