Once in a generation find is a silly statement from this so called geologist. Until the region is adequately drilled out it is impossible to make a statement like that.
WA1 were the first ones to undertake follow up drilling on these juicy geophysical targets following initial IOCG historical work from companies such as MEI, BHP etc. It wasn’t until they started running full REE assay suits with more modern technology that they found their REE deposit and made a discovery.
Since the region is so remote and access is so difficult under both physical access, available infrastructure and also indigenous approval considerations, the increased interest is only just arriving since the WA1 discovery.
This tells me that there are plenty more success stories on the way given the regional geology, similar geophysical targets and how underexplored the region actually is. The upside is enormous and plenty more discoveries await imo. I wonder who is next..?!
