I just believe that if you had to pick which company would have pushed WBT for automotive heat certification Tesla has to be top of the list. GM and Stellantis are clueless, Ford only marginally better and the Japanese brands including Toyota lost causes. The Europeans are trying but mostly failing.
Auto technology leadership in EV's, which are the future, has 2 clear winners. Tesla and China brands, especially BYD. By 2030 many of these car companies either won't exist, will have been bought out for the name after bankruptcy like MG the former British sports car maker, now Chinese owned and maker of some very excellent EV's or become niche producers.
Their situation is dire regarding future participation in the EV market and their level of debt limits the options available to convert from traditional manufacturing processes and outdated factories.
