I gave the Mrs the money to buy a new car. She chose a medium sized suv to make interstate trips on highways.
It's a four cylinder turbo diesel and consumes fivish litres per 100 km with a 55 litre tank so goes over 1000 km on a tankfull according to specs and the result of a recent trip to catch up with family.
For some reason it runs cleaner than the petrol powered models in the manufacturers line-up and doesn't use AdBlue.

Isn’t that a sexist thing to say “I gave the missus the money”
Surely, if you are married the finances are jointly owned and she shouldn’t have to wait for some money whenit suits your benevolence.
