It is only because prisoners, Wagners and other ethnic minorities have watered down the number of casualties that Russia has not suffered backlash over the war. If their numbers have dwindled then there will need to be more conscripts from Moscow and Saint Petersburg so resistance will grow as the obits in the cities grow.

I just checked: The US losses, killed and injured in the Pacific from Dec 7,1941 to VP Day are about the same as Russia's losses in Ukraine. They captured many islands against fierce resistance and liberated millions of square miles of the globe. You need a tape measure to calculate Russia's advances.
