I know what you're saying, but the Chinese have already invested close to a $1 billion dollars in Africa (see below), they're not going to not make anything out of it, they would use it to press down long term lithium price so it can support EV growth. The prior assumption was that EV growth would be exceptional and supply is not keeping up, but now increasingly it is looking like the other way around, EV growth would remain but at a slower pace than previously anticipated while supply is not likely to be an issue as much. If EV totally collapse, these supply mines would cease but because EV growth continues, they would continue to be pursued (especially after the Chinese have invested a lot of time and money).
