There are many women (feminists) around the world who have been deeply concerned about the deliberate rubbing out of language relating specifically to females and to the belief that you can change your sex (not just gender identification - which is the correct term not simply gender).
there has been a recent case in the uk relating to the termination of a man who would not accept that a persons sex could be changed. He won that case on the basis of discrimination under the uk law and UN convention.
when you eliminate language by force rather than the gradual change in social convention you are in fact intentionally shaping society. There is a vast difference between accepting transgender people as being worthy of respect and doing that by eliminating femaleness
