I think we have had ample proof in this thread that
@Lapdog has no interest in the facts in respect of Israel and Gaza. I guess it doesn’t suit to realise that it is Palestinians and at one point (maybe even now) other Arab states who have been the sticking point in achieving peace.
To accept that is, in his mind, to negate the utter tragedy unfolding
but then I think many people have forgotten history and think this is only about October terrorism. Hardly anyone refers to that incident as terrorism but in fact many seem to justify it on the basis of their warped understanding of history
but I am concerned about what next. Because of the ferocity of the response and the change on public opinion (very different from a few decades ago) I fear where this will end and the anti semitism it will stir up.
I have had many uncomfortable conversations in real life with people who have had the same reaction as lappy and sone of these have expressed very clear antisemitic views that they don’t even realise are that.
there are likely to be many unintended consequences unless the Israeli government has a follow up plan
