I really don't have a clue. I guess now that A2M has made it through the China label registration and entered into the top 5 in China, they have to be flashing pretty bright on Danone's radar. A2M is now the main imported competition to Aptamil in terms of market share.
Danone already has a production plant in NZ, and also can't very easily waltz in and takeover Synlait without both A2M and Bright Dairy's cooperation. Seems unlikely. But if they were to takeover A2M, they do also obtain A2M's stake in Synlait, which would assist in any future Synlait takeover.
I could definitely see advantages to Danone taking over A2M but pure speculation on my part.
