They like repeating themselves. We saw this same chest beating just prior to the initial permit approval. The fact is it's not up to them. Weaponising the detailed mining plan sets a dangerous precedent where the court system then becomes redundant. What message does that send to future investments? Go through the stringent permitting procedure, get approval in all 3 courts, only for local the NIMBY hero to have the last say?
A handful of council members (that are clearly anti-mining activists posting on a facebook group titled "YES to a FUTURE without mining") will not be able to overrule the Supreme Court. It won't stand and has already attracted anger from the Minister for Employment, Johan Pehrson.
