In one consideration batteries are almost there. in practise you don't charge from 0 to 100% instead more commonly charging in the sweet zone from approx 30 - 80% which on an 800v car takes only 10-15 minutes as this maximises use of the charging curve. Of course, this relies on adequately spaced and available fast chargers which is the other side of the equation for road tripping
